Grotto to serve dinners
The Gao Grotto will serve meals from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Friday. Price: $6 per dinner.
Meal includes choice of Italian beef and chips or beer-battered fish with fries or coleslaw.
Christian luncheon set
Danville Christian Women’s Connection will host its luncheon from noon to 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 27, at the Danville Boat Club, 15750 Boat Club Road. The lunch cost is $13.
The special feature “Scarves – How to Wear Them” will be presented by Cookie Anders.
Rita Ford, of Genesco, will speak on “Ties That Bind,” and Gospel Generation Trio, of Chrisman, will provide the music.

Community concert set
The Israel of God’s Church, W.H.A., will host a Community Choir Concert at 6 p.m. Saturday at the church, 125 Tennessee Ave.
The church is inviting local area churches to participate in the concert. Interested churches may call Bishop Ronald C. Henton, pastor, at 442-4622.
The featured guest choir will come from the Israel of God’s Church in Detroit, Mich. Refreshments will be served following the concert.
Benefit to help family
Heartbeats for Randi Benefit will begin at noon March 24 in Sarge’s Banquet Hall. Proceeds will go to help pay medical expenses incurred by Randi Lough Swearingen, who passed away Oct. 19, 2012, at a month old.
Food will include barbecue sandwiches by Tina Duprey, Vermilion County’s first-place barbecue champion, coleslaw, chips and drinks. There will be a 50/50 raffle and other raffle items. Music will be provided by DJ Larry Steven’s Magic Light and Sound.
