Incidents reported to police include:



Theft in the 800 block of North Hazel Street.


A man arrested for possession of cannabis, possession of burglary tools, residential burglary and possession of stolen property in the first block of South State Street.

A woman arrested on four counts of retail theft for incidents at Sears, Deb’s and Bath and Body Works at the Village Mall, 2917 N. Vermilion St.

Burglary and theft in the 1200 block of North Franklin Street.

Theft in the 500 block of East Main Street.

A man arrested for disorderly conduct and assault in the 1000 block of Hillside Drive.

Domestic battery in the 1200 block of James Place.

Forgery at 3712 N. Vermilion St.

Property damage in the 900 block of East Main Street.

Vehicle damaged in the 100 block of Elmwood Avenue.

Vermilion County


Vehicle damage in the 300 block of East South Street, Fairmount.

Theft reported in rural Potomac.

Theft along County Road 850N, Jamaica.

Accidents involving tickets or injuries include:

Sunday, 3:26 a.m. —On Mill Road near County Road 1880E near Georgetown involving Christopher Pithoud, 27, of Kingman, Ind. He was charged with DUI, improper lane usage and driving without insurance. He was taken to Presence United Samaritans Medical Center for treatment.

Sunday, 6:44 p.m. — In the 400 block of South Bowman Avenue involving Ronnie Mason, 38, of the first block of Camelot Avenue, and Felisha Neff, 22, of Danville. Mason was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.

Monday, 7:39 a.m. — At North Bowman Avenue and Georgian Drive involving Amanda Lind, 32, of the 900 block of Georgian Drive, and Lucy Evans, 26, of the 1100 block of North Bowman Avenue. Lind was cited for driving without insurance and failure to yield while Evans was cited for driving without insurance and driving without a valid driver’s license.

Monday, 4:44 p.m. — At Bowman Avenue and Poland Road involving David Bennett Jr., 28, of Alvin, and John Dene, 33, of Rossville. Bennett was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. Both drivers were taken to Presence United Samaritans Medical Center for treatment.

Monday, 5:16 p.m. — At North Vermilion Street and Lake Shore Drive involving Barbara Golden, 61, of the first block of Mauck Lane, and Justin French, 17, of Westville. Golden was cited for making an improper turn.

  • Police investigate shooting report

    DANVILLE — City police investigated reports of a shooting in the 1000 block of Moore Street about 6:30 p.m.

    Preliminary reports had as many as three people with gunshot wounds. Ambulances were called to assist two of the people with wounds to the leg and one with a chest wound.

    The investigation continued Friday evening.
