Bridal showcase set for Sunday

DANVILLE — Discounted tickets still are available for the third annual Bridal Showcase this Sunday sponsored by the Commercial-News.

The 2012 Bridal Showcase will be open noon to 3 p.m. Sunday, at the Turtle Run Golf and Banquet Center on Liberty Lane.

Early bird tickets are being sold for $3 each through Friday at the Commercial-News, 17 W. North St. Tickets also may be purchased at the door on the day of the event for $5.

A $1 off coupon is available in the newspaper that may be applied to the cost of the early bird ticket or a ticket purchased at the door.

Kim Fitch, Commercial-News advertising director, said she is pleased to offer the event at a new venue this year.

“We’re excited once again to be putting on the premier bridal event in the area,” she said. “And we’re especially excited about the new Turtle Run venue.

“This is our first year having it at Turtle Run,” she said.

The showcase will feature a strolling fashion show, rather than a show conducted on a runway, during which models will wear the latest bridal fashions from David’s Bridal in Champaign and Seno Formal Wear in Danville.

Door prizes also will be given away during the event, including a $25 gift certificate from Anker Florist in Danville and a Chiro-Flow pillow from Dr. Chris Robinson in Danville.

Elite Entertainment of Champaign will give away a free monogram, a $300 value, with the purchase of a DJ service or reception lighting package, Fitch said.

Jeff Simpson of D & J Entertainment will be the master of ceremonies during the showcase and announce door prize winners.

More than a dozen area wedding industry experts will be on hand at the showcase to offer samples and display their wares.

K.C. Express Limousine Service of Danville and Larry’s Limousine of Champaign will have some of their limos parked at the event for brides-to-be to view.

This year’s showcase vendors include: Elite Entertainment of Champaign; Turtle Run Golf and Banquet Center of Danville; Seno Formal Wear of Danville; Dr. Chris Robinson of Danville; David’s Bridal of Champaign; Mary Kay representative Jane Edel of Danville; Larry’s Limousine of Champaign; Executive Plaza of Danville; and Carson’s of Danville.

Other vendors are: ReBath of Illinois; Danville Country Club; Benjamin Lapid Photography of Savoy; The Riggle/Party On Rental of Belgium; Danville Paper & Supply; K.C. Express Limousine Service of Danville; Anker Florist of Danville; VFW Post 728 of Danville; and Café Delights of Hoopeston.
