Mail carriers collect food


DANVILLE — The National Association of Letter Carriers will host the Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive on Saturday.

Letter carriers in the Danville, Tilton, Westville, Georgetown, Oakwood, Catlin and Bismarck communities will be participate.

Residents can place non-perishable food items out by their mailboxes early Saturday, and their letter carrier will pick up the donation. Those with larger donations can bring them into their local post office.

Acceptable items include: canned soup, canned fruit and vegetables, peanut butter, tuna, macaroni and cereal.

All food collected will be distributed to local food pantries.
