VA celebrates cease fire

Computer class scheduled

The Vermilion County Internet Masters will sponsor the class Computer Basics, which is designed for the beginner computer user.

Computer Basics will be offered from 9 a.m. to noon Feb. 4 and 5 in the computer lab of Danville Lutheran School in the Trinity Lutheran Church building, 824 E. Main St.

The class will address the computer keyboard and mouse, the filing system, cutting and pasting and more.

Class cost: $40. Seating is limited to 10. Class fee is nonrefundable. The lab computers run Windows XP, but Vista and Windows 7 will be discussed.

Meeting to include laughs

The Vermillion County Soil and Water Conservation District will host its annual meeting Feb. 12 at the Dana Firehouse on State Road 71. Doors open at 6 p.m. EST, with dinner served at 6:30 p.m. EST.

Following the free dinner and short business meeting, farmer/humorist Kevin Cox will entertain the audience.

Theatre opens season

Revolution Productions, LLC at Myers Dinner Theatre, 108 Water St., will open its 2013 season with “Singin’ in the Rain” starting Feb. 1.

The high-energy musical comedy is based on the MGM film of the same name. The show runs through Feb. 23. Performances are primarily on Wednesday and Saturday afternoons and Friday and Saturday nights. Call for specific dates and times.

The cost for dinner and show is $36 (tax included); children 4-18 are $25. Group prices are available. Show-only tickets are also available for $20.
