Members of the Illiana Genealogical & Historical Society and/or the Governor Bradford Chapter of the DAR may view library materials free; non-members are asked for a $3 donation per day. The Illiana Genealogy Library, 215 W. North St., Danville, IL 61832, is staffed entirely by volunteers and the library’s acquisitions are purchased with money from membership dues, profits from book sales, and donations by researchers. An individual IGHS membership is $25 per calendar year; a student membership, for ages 12-18, costs $10 per student year.

IGHS is the oldest incorporated genealogical society in the state of Illinois. Its genealogical collections are extensive, to say the least. Why not give your personal genealogical research a boost, as well as support this organization by becoming a member?

Queries, as well as a general exchange of genealogical material that readers would like to share, will be printed in the column for free. Contact Joan Griffis by e-mailing JBGriffis@aol.com
