Denman said the project would go out to bid the first week of November, with bids being presented to the school board at its Dec. 12 meeting and contracts hopefully being awarded Dec. 13.
“Ideally, work would start over Christmas break,” Denman said.
Also on Wednesday, the school board will:
--Review the first reading of a job description for supervisor of nurses.
Denman said the supervisor of nurses always has been “an extracurricular responsibility” of one of the school nurses.
“Some people refer to it as head nurse,” he said.
According to Denman, the supervisor of nurses also “works in tandem with the director of special education on health issues.”
--Consider approving a revised job description for principal.
--Consider the suspension of a non-certified employee. Denman said the recommended suspension was “performance related.”
--Consider approving Safety National as the workers’ compensation excess coverage carrier for district employees that would cover catastrophic claims for two years.
The District 118 School Board will hold its next regular meeting at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Jackson Building, 516 N. Jackson St.
