DANVILLE — Kirlin’s Hallmark was expected to open Friday, but the opening has been delayed.

Laura Sievert, marketing director with Kirlin’s Hallmark, said the opening will now likely be during the third week of March.

The delay is due to the install team from Kansas City being delayed due to snow, Sievert said.

“They are behind,” she said.

A new opening date will be announced soon, she added.

Kirlin’s Hallmark will be opening in Towne Centre, 2 E. Main St.

The store is taking over the former Dena’s Hallmark space. Dena’s has been closed since the first of the year. The Dena’s Hallmark in the Village Mall also closed in October.

The store will be open 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday.

The store manager is Lisa Pfeiffer and the store will have around 10 employees.

The store still is accepting applications for part-time sales associates. Interested people may apply in person or e-mail resumes@kirlins.com.

The Kirlin’s chain is family-owned and operated. It has grown to become Hallmark’s largest independent distributor in the United States.
