Sale to benefit Irby family



The conference will feature keynote speaker Rosa Milagros Santos Gilbertz, break-out sessions, exhibits, vendors and the Idea Room. The conference focuses on infants through second grade.

“Family Connections” provides more than 15 workshops to choose from during three working sessions. There are two tracks of workshops from which to choose: Autism Track and Birth-Second Grade Track.

Groups plan blood drive

Armstrong High School and Community Blood Services of Illinois will sponsor a blood drive from 1-6 p.m. today at the school, 30474 Smith St.

Refreshments will be provided. Walk-ins are welcomed.


Church plans beef dinner

Catlin United Methodist Church will have its semi-annual roast beef dinner 5-7 p.m. Friday.

Menu: roast beef, mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans, corn, Beef House dinner roll, beverage and dessert. A freewill offering will be taken. For more information, call 427-5566 or e-mail

Winter concert Thursday

Covington High School’s music department will present its winter concert at 7 p.m. EST Thursday in the school’s multi-purpose room.

The concert will feature performances by the band a choir. Admission will be free. For information, contact Andrew Simpkins, music director, at (765) 793-2286.


Groups plan blood drive

Homer United Methodist Church and Community Blood Services of Illinois will sponsor a blood drive from 4-7 p.m. Thursday at the church, 301 S. Main St.

Refreshments will be provided. Walk-ins are welcome.


Multi Agency dance nears

The Hoopeston Multi Agency will have a dance from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Saturday at the agency, 206 S. First Ave.

The event will feature fellowship and music by Beverly Wolf and Company. Drinks will be provided. Attendees should bring a snack to share. Price: $5.
