Sale to benefit Irby family

DANVILLE — A community rummage sale will take place from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, March 2, at the Vermilion Heights Christian Church, 726 Oakwood Ave.

The proceeds of the sale will be used to help offset the cost of the medical bills and living expenses for the Ryan Irby family. Irby was diagnosed in August with multiple myeloma. He has started the process of harvesting stem cells in preparation of a stem cell transplant and super chemo in Indianapolis.

Donated items, large or small, may be dropped off between the hours of 5-8:30 p.m. March 1 at the church.

Grotto to serve fish, clams

The Gao Grotto will serve beer-battered fish or chicken strip dinners with fries and coleslaw for $6 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Friday. Or patrons may order a breaded shrimp and clams combination dinner with fries and coleslaw for $9.

Church sets rummage sale

The First United Methodist Church will host a rummage sale from 3-6 p.m. Friday and 8 a.m. to noon Saturday. Proceeds go toward mission work.

Talent show for children

The Danville’s Got Talent show is seeking entrants ages 3-13. Talents may include: instrumentals, drama, dance or vocal pieces, etc.

Season 1 of the talent show will kick off from 3-5 p.m. March 10 at the Vermilion Regional Airport, Cloud 9, 22633 N. Bowman St. Danville’s Christian Cunningham will make an appearance.

The Danville High School Class of 2003 will host its 10-year reunion in August.
