Schlarman begins spring raffle

DANVILLE — Schlarman High School’s 13th annual spring raffle began Monday.

During the past 12 years, more than $3.6 million has been raised for Catholic education in the Vermilion County area. About $2.3 million has been paid out in prize money, of which the majority ends up in the local economy.

New this year are Lucky 13 drawings, which will take place every 13 days during the raffle with two prizes of $500 each drawn on those days.

The details of this year’s raffle are:

-- Payday drawings will be this Friday as well as March 12, March 19, March 26, April 9, April 16 and April 23. Two drawings of $250 will take place on each of these dates.

--Lucky 13 drawings will be March 13 and 26, and April 8 and 21.

-- Three early bird prizes will be given away April 10 at Turtle Run Banquet Center. The early bird prize of $5,000 will be drawn first, then the second early bird prize of $1,000 and then the third prize of $500.

Winners of all payday drawings, Lucky 13 drawings and the early bird drawings are still eligible for all future drawings.

The main drawing will be May 1 at the Knights of Columbus Hall, with 75 prizes being given away that evening.
