The 2013 Tour of Industries in Vermilion County will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 24. Reservations aren’t required. Participants can go to each business on their own and take a tour. Participating businesses: Danville Metal Stamping,17 Oakwood Ave., which started in 1946 and makes metal components for the aerospace and gas turbine industries; Watchfire Signs, 1015 Maple St., which started as Time-O-Matic in 1945 and makes electronic outdoor signs; Fiberteq, 3650 Southgate Drive, which started in 2001 and produces wet formed fiberglass mat used in roofing; ThyssenKrupp Crankshaft Co.,1000 Lynch Road, which started in 1991 and makes crankshafts for farming and construction equipment and trucks and automobiles; and ThyssenKrupp Presta, 70 Walz Creek Drive, which started in 1994 and assembles camshafts for automobiles.
