The North Vermillion School Board has decided to reject bids for summer renovation projects at North Vermillion High and North Vermillion Elementary schools and to rebid the projects.
The low bid of $1.679 million from C.H. Garmong of Terre Haute was rejected for the high school along with all three bids for the elementary school. The board will proceed with another required 1028 hearing at 6 p.m. EDT April 8 in the superintendent’s office.
Gerard Skibinski of OMS Contractors of Indianapolis said the delay will result in the project still being under way when students return in August, but school officials felt they could work around it.
The board authorized proposals for upgrading the waste water treatment plan following OMS specifications. Proposals should be sent to Skibinski at OMS at 429 N. Pennsylvania St., Suite 403, Indianapolis.
Proposals for upgrading the district’s FM radio communication system also should be sent to Skibinski.
