DANVILLE — Here’s a look at recent law enforcement calls:

Danville

Wednesday:

Theft in the 800 block of East Madison Street.

Thursday:

A man arrested for disorderly conduct and criminal trespassing in the 700 block of Oak Street.

Retail theft at Walmart Supercenter, 4101 N. Vermilion St.

A man arrested for aggravated battery in the first block of Columbus Street.

Disorderly conduct in the 1600 block of Beechwood Street.

Theft at Danville High School, 202 E. Fairchild St.

Aggravated battery in the 100 block of North Logan Avenue.

Friday:

Burglary in the 1900 block of North Franklin Street.

Domestic battery and obstructing justice at Michigan Avenue and Williams Street.

Vehicle burglary in the 500 block of Dawn Avenue.

Domestic battery in the 1000 block of Harmon Street.

Vermilion County

Wednesday:

Theft in the 800 block of Warrington Avenue.

Thursday:

A man arrested for criminal damage to property in the 400 block of East Honeywell Street, Hoopeston.

Theft and property damage in the 1400 block of Warrington Avenue.

A man arrested for domestic battery in the 200 block of East Main Street, Hoopeston.

Friday:

Battery in the 100 block of South Main Street, Rankin.

Accidents involving tickets or injuries include:

Thursday, 8 a.m. — At  Commercial Street and Michigan Avenue involving Sofia Dunlao, 17, of Alvin, and Gerri Rife, 51, of Danville. Dunlao was cited for improper passing.

Firefighters responded to the following calls:

Thursday, 4:35-4:55 p.m. — An illegal burning at 118 Indiana St.

Thursday, 10:59-11:32 p.m. — A medical call in the 500 block of South Cedarwood Drive.

Friday, 12:24-12:35 a.m. — A medical call in the 400 block of Avenue A.

Friday, 2:45-2:54 a.m. — A medical call at Lape Street and Virginia Avenue.

  • Hoopeston Area school staff to see insurance rates increase

    Hank Hornbeck, superintendent of Hoopeston Area schools, informed board members Thursday that staff health insurance rates would increase 5.99 percent from the previous year. Health insurance would remain with Health Alliance.
