No cause has been determined in a Wednesday morning house fire in Danville.
Firefighters responded to the report of a fire around 9:39 a.m. Wednesday at 1958 N. Vermilion St.
Capt. Dave Milholland said the first personnel to arrive on scene reported heavy smoke and fire coming from the attic area of the two-story home owned by Shawn Owen. Sixteen firefighters responded to the scene.
Residents were home at the time and were able to get out of the home without injury.
Milholland said firefighters had the fire under control quickly. The fire department and investigators left the scene just before 5 p.m.
A cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
Damages to the home are estimated at $40,000.
