Money benefits animals

The Vermilion County Animal Shelter Foundation will have a fundraiser at 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at Buffalo Wild Wings, 3101 N. Vermilion St. A percentage of the night’s sales will be donated to the foundation.

The foundation offers support to the Vermilion County Animal Shelter by staffing adoption clinics, organizing rescue trips for animals, providing a low-cost spay/neuter program and hosting fundraisers to pay veterinary care for sick or injured animals and medicines.

Tai chi classes offered

A couple of tai chi classes will take place at Danville Area Community College.

“Tai Chi for Health” will be from 6-7 p.m. starting March 5 through April 26 in the Mary Miller Dance Studio. Tai Chi for Health uses forms that are very low-impact, more upright postures and is suitable for people of all ages. The program also includes training in the popular 8 Pieces of Brocade qigong exercise set.

“Tai Chi–24 Form” beginners course will be from 7:15-8:15 p.m. March 5 through April 25, also in the dance studio. The 24 Form is slightly more rigorous than the Tai Chi for Health program and includes gentle bending, stretching and balance-challenging postures.
