Energy assistance offered

DANVILLE — The East Central Illinois Community Action Agency will provide one-time energy bill payment assistance to qualified customers.The assistance is for households that have not yet applied for services or have previously applied but are now being threatened with disconnection. Households can apply for assistance with electric, natural gas, propane or fuel oil.

A Power Blitz will be from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday at the Agency’s administration office, 56 N. Vermilion St. Applicants must call the agency at 443-2705 to schedule an appointment.

Customers must bring the following to their appointment: proof of income for all household members for the past 30 days; a copy of most recent electric bill; Social Security cards for all household members; verification of food stamps benefits, if applicable; rent receipt or lease, if applicable.
