WESTVILLE — One person is dead and three others injured in an early morning traffic accident west of Westville.
Vermilion County Coroner Peggy Johnson confirmed in an email press release Saturday that one person was killed in the single-vehicle accident that took place just after midnight Saturday on County Road 1100N near County Road 1460E, west of the village of Westville.
The deceased was identified as 19-year-old Nicole Harris of Westville. According to Johnson, she was a passenger in a vehicle with three other people when the accident took place.
All four people in the vehicle were ejected as a result of the single-vehicle traffic accident. The other three people — which Johnson did not identify — were taken to Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana for treatment of injuries.
Harris was pronounced dead at 12:43 a.m. Saturday at the scene of the traffic accident.
