DANVILLE — Assistant manager Lisa Ford used the Wii remote to pick from grey-headed, blonde and brunette Mii characters Thursday afternoon in a lounge at Immanuel Senior Residences.
Despite the differing hair color of their characters, most members of the bowling team have one thing in common. They are at minimum 70 years in age, except for Ford, who works as assistant property manager for the senior residence.
Since 2013, the group of elderly residents has been getting together to bowl on the Wii, Ford said. Last year the group even had a banquet recognizing the Wii bowlers with certificates and trophies.
The cast of bowlers Thursday included: residents Crystal Darnell, 70, Sally Long, 84, Yvonne Stelter, 76, Sandy Boyle, 70, Pat Dabney, Mary Mancuso, 73, and assistant manager Lisa Ford.
Darnell said that sometimes the residents doing laundry next door to the lounge can hear the group's excited screams.
The group dedicated Thursday's bowling session to a faithful bowler who passed away earlier this week, Noralee Shier.
