Danville Area Community College and the Middlefork Audubon Society will sponsor Eagle Day Wednesday. The program will be presented the Office of Wildlife Learning World Bird Sanctuary of St. Louis at 9 a.m. and again at 12:30 p.m. in the Mary Miller Gymnasium at DACC.
Displays at the free program typically include birds of prey such as falcons and nocturnal birds such as owls. Handlers allow birds to fly free over the heads of audience members to demonstrate the grace and agility of the birds. Each year, the highlight of the event is the appearance of the U.S. national symbol, the Bald Eagle.
