CRIS offers rides to parks


DANVILLE — CRIS Rural Mass Transit District transportation can be used for travel to and from Kickapoo State Park and Kennekuk County Park. CRIS offers a special fare of $1 each way.

Riders may schedule a ride to the park with a specified return time or may schedule a ride through the park with no stops.

Rides must be scheduled two working days in advance by calling transportation at 443-2999.

CRIS Rural Mass Transit District also provides rural general public transportation to anyone outside the urbanized area of Danville, Westville and Georgetown to Danville’s urbanized area or vice versa.

General rides are provided 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.

Rides must be scheduled at least two working days in advance. Regular fares: $4 each way for riders younger than 60, $3 each way for those who are older than 60 or disabled.
