Grant available to local groups

CHAMPAIGN — The Community Foundation of East Central Illinois’ Annual Unrestricted Grant application cycle has begun. Non-profit organizations will find requirements, guidelines and application forms on the Foundation’s website at http://www.cfeci.org/non-profits.

Any organization with an IRS certification of a charitable tax-exempt 501(c)(3) status or other comparable non-profit public charity that serves the residents of east central Illinois is eligible to apply.

The Community Foundation of East Central Illinois invites proposals in the areas of arts and humanities, environment, education, health and human services, urban affairs and youth activities. Successful proposals are those that address problems to be solved or opportunities to be seized upon. Grants are typically given for durable, non-disposable items.

Applications are due by noon Aug. 30. No late applications will be accepted.

The Community Foundation of East Central Illinois distributes nearly $1 million each year through grants to non-profit organizations and scholarship recipients in its service area that includes Champaign, Coles, Douglas, Edgar, Ford, Iroquois, Moultrie, Piatt and Vermilion counties.
