Lawyers host food drive

DANVILLE — In conjunction with Lawyers Feeding Illinois, the Vermilion County Bar Association will have a food and fundraising campaign starting Monday through March 1. Residents can drop off nonperishable food items at the Dukes, Ryan, Meyer & Freed law office, 146 N. Vermilion St.

Items accepted include canned foods and nonperishable items before or past the “best by” date. Items accepted: canned or dry beans, canned fruits or vegetables, pasta, pasta sauce in plastic containers, shelf-stable milk and more.

No candy, fresh produce, homemade food, food in glass containers or food with missing labels will be accepted.

Lawyers Feeding Illinois is a competitive food and fundraising campaign among lawyers and legal organizations across Illinois. Lawyers Feeding Illinois will support the work of the eight member food banks of Feeding Illinois.
