DANVILLE — A man wanted in connection with two shooting incidents was arrested Saturday after being shot.
The early morning shooting was the latest of three shootings in recent days that have taken place in Danville. Two others took place on Thursday — one around 4:10 p.m. and the other around 11 p.m.
In Saturday’s shooting incident, the victim, Antwanne M. Hall, 18, was a suspect in one of the Thursday shootings as well as a December shooting.
Police received a call around 3 a.m. Saturday reporting gunshots in the 1600 block of Beechwood Street. While en route to that call, officers were directed to an apartment in the 1600 block of Beechwood Street where they found the gunshot victim — Hall.
A police press release indicated Hall had been in the area of Edgewood and Moore streets when he was approached by three black males.
One of the men displayed a handgun and fired multiple shots at Hall, who was struck once below the waist, said Danville Police Deputy Director Doug Miller. Hall was taken to Provena United Samaritans Medical Center where he was treated and released.
Upon his release, Hall was taken into custody on two warrants. One charged him in connection with the 11 p.m. Thursday shooting, which took place in the 900 block of Moore Street. In that incident, an 18-year-old was taken to the hospital for treatment after he was shot in the shoulder.
Hall is charged with aggravated battery with a firearm, aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and aggravated battery with great bodily harm.
The second warrant charged him with the Dec. 20 shooting of a 23-year-old Danville man in the 900 block of Redden Court in the Fair Oaks Housing Complex. In that case, Hall is charged with aggravated battery with a firearm, aggravated discharge of a firearm and robbery.
