CRIS offers rides to parks

DANVILLE — CRIS Rural Mass Transit District transportation can be used for travel to and from Kickapoo State Park and Kennekuk County Park. CRIS has special fares for rides to and from the parks. The special fare is $1 each way.

Riders may schedule a ride to the park with a specified return time or may schedule a ride through the park with no stops. Rides must be scheduled two working days in advance by calling transportation at 443-2999.

Kennekuk County Park offers a variety of activities including fresh water ponds with shelters and the historic Bunker Hill area. Kickapoo State Park offers a variety of outdoor activities, shelters and the Kickapoo Landing.

CRIS Rural Mass Transit District provides rural general public transportation to anyone outside the urbanized area of Danville, Westville and Georgetown to Danville fs urbanized area or vice versa.

Rides are provided 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday Rides must be scheduled at least two working days in advance. Regular fares are $4 each way for riders younger than 60 and $3 each way for those who are older than 60 or disabled.
