One man remains hospitalized following an early Saturday morning stabbing incident in Catlin.
The Vermilion County Sheriff’s Department continues to investigate the incident, which took place around 4:20 a.m. Saturday in the 300 block of Orchard Street, Catlin.
Sgt. Bill Hurt, an investigator with the sheriff’s department, said Monday no arrests have been made in connection with the stabbing. Names of the individuals involved were not being released as of Monday afternoon as interviews continue in the case.
According to Hurt, deputies responded to Presence United Samaritans Medical Center to speak to a 35-year-old Danville man reporting injuries as a result of a battery incident.
A 29-year-old Danville man arrived later at Presence USMC reporting injuries as a result of the same incident.
Hurt said a situation arose between the 35-year-old man — who was the ex-boyfriend of a woman living at the Catlin address — and the 29-year-old who is a friend of the woman.
The 35-year-old suffered multiple stab wounds as a result of the incident. He was later transferred to Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana where he was listed in fair condition as of Monday.
The 29-year-old man was treated and released Saturday at Presence USMC.
