Crimestoppers seeks information

DANVILLE — Crimestoppers is looking for information on three different robberies that took place during October.

The first happened last week when a man armed with a handgun approached two female employees from the Village Mall around 10 p.m. Friday. The man demanded money from both women, pushing one to the ground after getting some cash.

The man then fled eastbound on foot. No shots were fired in the incident.

The man is described as a black male in his early 20s standing 6 feet tall and weighing about 160 pounds. He had on dark clothing and wore a white bandana across his face.

In the second incident, two men are sought in connection with a robbery at 12:30 a.m. on Oct. 19 at Madison and Harvey streets.

According to police, a woman left her residence and was walking down the street when she noticed a man following her. The man met up with another individual near Porter and Main streets and the two continued to follow, finally catching up to the woman at Madison and Harvey streets.

Miller said one man grabbed the duffle bag the woman was carrying, knocking her to the ground. The other man picked up the cellular phone the woman was carrying. Both fled the scene.

The original suspect was described as a black male wearing a gray stocking cap, black jacket and black pants. He stood 5 feet, 4 inches tall and weighed about 160 pounds. He was believed to be in his late teens. The second suspect, also a black male, was only described as wearing a white jacket with blue shirt and dark jeans.

The third robbery took place around 3:30 p.m. on Oct. 9 at Jackson and Newell streets.

The victim told police a silver four-door car pulled up alongside him and two men got out. The men attempted to steal the victim’s wallet, punching the person in the process. The men then left in the car, which headed eastbound toward Cedar Street.

Both were described as black males with dark skin, one standing 5 feet tall and weighing around 150 pounds. The other was described at standing 6 feet 5 inches tall and heavy set.
