Danville School District 118 has four seats on the school board to be filled during the upcoming April 9 election.
Terms are expiring for Dr. Randal P. Ashton, Daniel D. Brown, Greg Hilleary and Frank R. Young.
Prospective candidates may pick up nominating petitions and other applicable documents from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday in the superintendent’s office at the Jackson Building, 516 N. Jackson St.
The four vacancies will be full terms of four years each.
Qualifications for candidates include being a citizen of the United States, of the age of 18 years or older, a resident of Illinois and the school district for at least one year immediately preceding the election, a registered voter, registered to vote in general elections from a residence located in the school district on the date of the election and shall not be a school trustee or school treasurer.
The filing period for nominating petitions begins at 8 a.m. Monday, Dec. 17, and ends at 5 p.m. Monday, Dec. 24. Petitions are to be filed with the secretary to the board of education in the superintendent’s office.
Candidates’ names will appear on the election ballot in the order in which their nominating papers are received in the secretary’s office.
