WESTVILLE — One person remained hospitalized Monday following a fatal single-vehicle crash during the weekend.
Michael Francis, 26, of Westville, was listed in fair condition Monday morning at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana. Aissa Wright, 21, of Georgetown was airlifted to Carle, but a spokesman said she was not on a list of current patients Monday.
They were passengers in a car driven by Jake Erickson, 23, of Richmond, Ky. He was treated at Presence United Samaritans Medical Center and released.
Killed in the crash was Nicole Harris, 19, of Westville. She was pronounced dead at the scene at 12:43 a.m. Saturday.
Capt. Dennis Wood with the Vermilion County Sheriff’s Department said the deputy on the scene indicated alcohol was involved. Police will submit a report to the Vermilion County state’s attorney for possible filing of charges.
Wood said the accident happened at 12:26 a.m. Saturday on County Road 1100 North, one-fourth of a mile east of County Road 1460, commonly known as Westville Lane.
The 1996 Jeep Cherokee was westbound on 1100 when it failed to negotiate a curve, went out of control and rolled over. All four people were ejected.
Wright was airlifted to Carle, and Francis was transported by Medix Ambulance to Carle; Erickson was taken to Presence by Georgetown Ambulance.
County police are continuing to investigate the crash.
