DANVILLE — The Danville Dans game against Quincy Gems tonight (June 11) has been canceled due to wet field conditions. It will be made up as part of a double-header on Friday, June 20, starting at 6 p.m.
“The field just hasn’t dried out this week,” said Dans managing partner Jeanie Cooke, in a press release. “It got wet overnight Saturday, and it never dried out before the rain Tuesday. We couldn’t cover the wet field Monday night because that would drive the moisture into the ground and make it sloppier than it is now.”
This will give the Dans six home games in four days next week. Tuesday’s game against Springfield was canceled because of the rain, and will be made up as a double-header on Wednesday, June 18, also at 6 p.m.
The Dans will take on Butler Blue Sox on Tuesday, June 17, and play a single game against Springfield on Thursday, June 19. Both these games will start at 6:30 p.m.
