During pre-registration, parents will sign up for a screening that will take place during regular fall registration. All students must be screened before being placed into a classroom.
Each child must be 5 years old on or before Sept. 1 to be eligible to enter kindergarten. Parents/guardians will need to bring an official certified copy of the child’s birth certificate, a copy of immunizations and a physical form if they have one. All kindergarten students must have a current physical, eye exam and dental exam before they start school.
Positions up for election: mayor, clerk and three trustees.
Variety show planned
Georgetown-Ridge Farm High School Drama will host its annual variety show at 6:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday at the Georgetown Community Center also known as the Washington Gym.
Prices: $1.25 for adults and $1 for students. Concessions will be available.
The show will include many student-written pieces including commercials and skits. There will be audience participation spots also.
Budget hearing scheduled
A budget hearing is set for 6:45 p.m. April 15 at Ridge Farm Village Hall, 15 W. Woodyard Ave.
The hearing is for budget year of May 1 through April 30, 2014.
Center offers classes
The Warren County Learning Center will offer the three-session class “Beginning Quilting” from 6:30-8 p.m. EDT Mondays, April 15, 22 and 29. Price: $10.
This class is for the beginner who has had little or no exposure to quilting. Students will learn how to mix and match colors for the quilt, how to use a rotary cutter, the proper technique for the seam bindings and how to make a border. After this basic class students should be able to progress to the next step of actually making a small quilt or wall hanging.
