Adult arrested for child porn

Police react to DCFS call

GEORGETOWN — Georgetown police are investigating allegations of child pornography against a Vermilion County man.

Timothy Davis, 23, of Georgetown, was taken into custody by Georgetown police around 9:15 p.m. Wednesday and booked on preliminary charges of predatory criminal sexual assault, aggravated criminal sexual assault and child pornography.

Georgetown Police Chief R. Whitney Reneker said police were called to Davis’ address in the 900 block of North Main Street in Georgetown. Police arrived as a result of a call to the Illinois Department of Child and Family Services.

Two counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse of family members were filed Thursday by the Vermilion County State’s Attorney’s Office against Davis. The date of the offense is listed as Wednesday.

Reneker did not elaborate on the age or sex of the alleged victim in the case except to say the victim was juvenile.

Each aggravated criminal sexual assault charge is a Class 2 felony punishable by up to seven years in the Illinois Department of Corrections.

Davis appeared in court for arraignment via video feed Thursday afternoon and is set for a preliminary hearing on the sexual abuse charges.

His bond was set at $75,000.

Reneker said no information was being released regarding the child pornography charge on which Davis was originally arrested. He said investigations in that element of the case are continuing.

He added details with regard to the child pornography charge could be released as early as today.

He noted there could be more arrests in connection with the case.
