Blues/gospel program set

Grotto to serve burgers

The Gao Grotto will serve hamburgers, grilled tenderloins and chicken strips from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Friday.

Meal includes choice of one meat, fries and baked beans. Price: $6.

Knights feature band

Seventeen Sisters will play at the Knights of Columbus for a Mardi Gras Party on Feb. 9. Doors will open at 6 p.m. for food, and the band will start at 7:30 p.m.

The band plays all kinds of music. Cajun food will be available. Tickets are $10 each or $80 for a table.

iPad workshop scheduled

The Internet Masters’ “Mac Kid” will present a three-hour workshop on mastering the iPad in the computer lab of Danville Lutheran School in the Trinity Lutheran Church Building, 824 E. Main St.

“The Incredible iPad” will be from 9 a.m. to noon Feb. 11. Cost: $30. Seating is limited to 10. Class fee is nonrefundable. Attendees should bring their iPad to class.

Actors to discuss film

Mike Boedicker will present a screening of the 1960 film “To Kill a Mockingbird” at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 11 in the first-floor meeting room at the Danville Public Library.

Cast members from the Red Mask Players’ production of the stage play will participate in the informal discussion following the movie. The program is free.

Excursion planned to park

The Danville Area Community College Community Education group is sponsoring a photo excursion to Yellowstone National Park in May.

An informational meeting about the trip is scheduled for 6 p.m. Wednesday in the DACC offices at the Village Mall. This is a no-obligation meeting.

Information will include what to expect, what to bring and what students will learn from the experience.
