Road work to start Monday

DANVILLE — The Illinois Department of Transportation announces that work is scheduled to begin Monday for installation of a cable guardrail on I-74 from the Salt Fork Vermilion River to the Indiana state line in Vermilion County.

Traffic on I-74 will be reduced to one lane in each direction at locations where work is ongoing, with the left-hand lane being closed during daytime hours.

The anticipated completion date is December, weather permitting. This project includes earthwork, adjustments to the existing drainage system and installation of a high tension cable guardrail system in the median of the interstate.

Motorists are advised to observe all traffic control signs, slow down and drive carefully through this and all work zones.
