STAFF REPORT
Commercial-News

DANVILLE Mark S. Goodwin received a majority of the votes cast by circuit judges in the Fifth Judicial Circuit — which includes Vermilion County — and is appointed to the office of associate judge.

Cynthia Y. Cobbs, director of the Administrative Office of the Illinois Courts, announced the results Monday.

Goodwin is affiliated with Dukes, Ryan, Meyer, Freed, Goodwin, et al. in Danville. He received his law degree from John Marshall in Chicago after earning his undergraduate degree from Illinois State University in 1984.

Goodwin will fill the seat vacated by Judge James Borbely who retired Oct. 30. Almost two dozen people had applied for the position.

The Fifth Judicial Circuit includes Vermilion, Coles, Edgar, Cumberland and Clark counties.
