Commissioners authorize Web site

COVINGTON, Ind. —
Fountain County is going to get an updated Web site.
Eric Cunningham, technology director at Southeast Fountain Elementary School, showed the Fountain County Commissioners Monday night what could be accomplished.
Cunningham showed what the site could have on it, including links to officeholders and important announcements.
He showed the Southeast Fountain site and what he has accomplished there.
The commissioners gave Cunningham the go-ahead and will work out reimbursement later.
In other business, commissioners:
-- Learned that nearly 3,000 H1N1 vaccines have been administered by the Fountain-Warren County Health Department.
“Everything went real smooth,” said Greg Robinson, spokesman for the health department. “We need to regroup and prioritize what we will do next.”
-- Approved the second reading on amending a zoning ordinance allowing for a business in Steam Corner on the southeast corner of U.S. Route 41 and Indiana Route 32.
-- Changed the health insurance for employees to Monument Life Insurance of Chicago, which was 7 percent lower than the present insurance.
- Accepted bids from CPI Supply of Bedford and Metal Customs Inc. of Jefferson City, Mo., for culvert ad sewer pipe.
-- Approved the second reading restricting commercial reproduction of electronic data from the county.
-- Vacated alleys in Silverwood for Jimmy Morgan. None of the alleys had been used.
-- Appointed Trina Marlatt to the Fountain-Warren Health Board.
-- Approved courthouse holidays for 2010 — New Year’s Day, Jan. 1; Good Friday, April 2; Primary Election Day, May 4; Memorial Day, May 31; Independence Day, July 5; Labor Day, Sept. 6; General Election Day, Nov. 2; Veterans Day, Nov. 11; Thanksgiving, Nov. 25-26; Christmas, Dec. 23-24; and New Year’s Eve, Dec. 31 (close at noon).
WHAT’S NEXT
The Fountain County Commissioners will meet at 8:30 a.m. Dec. 7 at the courthouse.
