Council wants to improve Web site

COVINGTON, Ind. —
The Fountain County Council would like to get the county's Web site updated.
County officials have discussed improving the site for several months, which has not been updated to include many of the current officeholders.
Councilman Jim Hershberger said the site could be made available for people to pay taxes or to get county documents.
Councilmen will check with the commissioners on the idea. A technology person at Southeast Fountain Elementary School has expressed interest in helping the county.
In other business, councilmen:
-- Approved an additional request of $285,000 in the Motor Vehicle Highway budget including $600 for telephone;, $3,000, utilities; $47,000, labor; $20,000, salt; $2,000, other material; $61,456, bituminous; $20,000, grader blades; $3,244, mechanic wages; $42,000, group insurance; $14,500, tires and tubes; $5,000,m other garage and motor; $44,200, gasoline; and $22,000, other repairs.
-- Transferred $537.01 in the emergency management account from building/vehicle insurance to computer/server maintenance.
-- Approved an additional request of $20,000 for budget and $21,194 for Bridge No. 5 in the cumulative bridge budget.
-- Transferred $2,000 from radio repair and $8,000 from medical supplies to equipment repair in the ambulance fund.
-- Approved an additional request of $60,000 in the commissioners budget for group insurance.
-- Approved an additional request of $718 in the sanitary landfill budget for Wells Hydro-Study.
-- Transferred $5,000 from tires, gas, oil-lube to repairs and maintenance in the sheriff¡¦s budget.
-- Appointed Jerry Goings to the Covington/Veedersburg Public Library board to fill the vacancy created by the resignation of Tim Shumaker who moved out of the district.
