ROSSVILLE Two people remain hospitalized following a severe accident during the weekend.

Seven people were transported by either ambulance or Lifeline from the scene of the crash early Sunday morning just east of Rossville.

Two passengers — Tyler Fritz, 24, of Rossville, and David Kester, 28, of Hoopeston — were taken to Provena United Samaritans Medical Center and later transferred to Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana.

The remaining people, including the driver Josh Silver, 29, of Rossville, were first taken to Hoopeston Community Memorial Hospital. He and the other passengers — Kelly Garmon, 36, of Alvin; Alysha Talbott, 20, of Rossville; Andrea Atwood, 22, of Rossville; and Travis Cery, 31, of Williamsport, Ind. — were then taken to Carle Foundation Hospital.

A spokeswoman for the hospital on Wednesday said Garmon and Silver remain in the hospital. Both are listed in good condition.

All remaining people have been released from Carle.

The Vermilion County Sheriff’s Department continues to look into the accident. Bill Hurt, an investigator, said no citations have been issued in the case.

Hurt said Silver was driving a 2004 Ford Explorer when the accident occurred just before 3 a.m. Sunday along Attica Road, less than a mile west of County Road 1650E.

The SUV was headed eastbound when it left the roadway to the right and continued forward, turning over on its side in a field.

The vehicle was totaled as a result of the accident, Hurt said.
