Sheriff’s investigators continue to look into an attack on a school bus driver early Monday morning.
The driver for the Oakwood Community School District was unlocking the school bus at about 6:15 a.m. Monday when the incident occurred.
Chief Investigator Rod Kaag said the driver was only a couple of rows into the bus when he was kicked in the chest. The impact forced him backward where he hit his head, knocking him unconscious and causing him to fall down the stairs of the bus.
The driver awoke to find a couple of items missing from his person.
He was taken to Provena United Samaritans Medical Center where he was admitted. He was listed in good condition today.The driver could not give a description of a suspect.

Report of shots fired in the 900 block of Fowler Avenue.

Disorderly conduct at CVS Pharmacy, 820 N. Vermilion St.
Battery in the 1600 block of East Fairchild Street.
Burglary in the 100 block of West Finley Street, Oakwood.
Theft along County Road 1800N, Fithian.
A lawnmower stolen along County Road 1800N, Fithian.
Gutter damaged at Allerton Supply Co., 309 E. Yates St., Allerton.
A purse stolen at the New Light Christian Church, 2105 N. Bowman Ave.
Two purses stolen at the Second Church of Christ, 3350 E. Voorhees St.
A theft along County Road 1850E, Rossville.
Domestic battery in the 300 block of West 15th Street, Georgetown.
Forgery reported in the 3700 block of North Vermilion Street.
Disorderly conduct and threat reported at the courthouse annex, 7 N. Vermilion St.
Bicycle stolen at the Oaklawn Inn, 1824 E. Main St.
Disorderly conduct and property damage in the first block of Carter Drive, Oakwood.
Theft in the 2100 block of South State Street, Westville.
A $100 counterfeit bill reported at Walgreens, 842 E. Main St.
Domestic violence reported in the 1000 block of Warrington Avenue.
A wallet and watch stolen in the 5000 block of U.S. Route 150.
Six parking signs stolen from Vermilion Heights Church, 725 Oakwood Ave.
Burglary in the 100 block of Kentucky Avenue.
Deceptive practices reported in the first block of Moore Street, Tilton.
Xbox games stolen in a burglary at Fortress PC in the Village Mall, 2917 N. Vermilion St.
Tuesday:
Vehicle burglary and damage reported at the Uptown Tap, 625 North St.
A woman arrested for disorderly conduct in the first block of McVey Street.
A man arrested for obstructing justice and DUI along North State Street in Westville.
Vehicle damaged in the 100 block of Cronkhite Avenue.
Accidents involving tickets or injuries include:
Saturday, 1 a.m. — At 1622 Clyman Court involving Randy Coleman, 19, of the 700 block of Wayne Street. Coleman was cited for leaving the scene and driving without proof of insurance.
Monday, 9:43 a.m. — At Delaware Avenue and Cleveland Street involving Linda Parsons, 58, of Sidell, and Kenneth Knight, 50, of the 100 block of Oregon Avenue. Parsons was cited for improper backing while Knight was cited for driving without proof of insurance.

Monday, 10:11-10:33 am. — A medical call in the 200 block of Delaware Avenue.
Monday, 11:47 a.m.-12:03 p.m. — A medical call in the 1600 block Ray Street.
Monday, 3:24-4:13 p.m. — An investigation at Jackson and North streets.
Monday, 9:06-9:18 p.m. — A medical call in the200 block of Tennessee Avenue.
Tuesday, 2:59-3:12 a.m. — A carbon monoxide check at 919 Campbell Lane.
