Police arrest Indiana couple for pot stash

Staff Report

PERRYSVILLE, Ind. Officers from the Vermillion County Drug Task Force and the Vermillion County Sheriff’s Department raided the home of Albert “Laury” and Ronda Lynne Graves on Monday night, seizing an indoor marijuana-growing operation.

Laury Graves, 43, is a Commercial-News photographer. Ronda Graves is 49.

Law enforcement officials charged the Graveses with cultivating marijuana, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and maintaining a common nuisance.

Officers seized several containers of marijuana seeds, fertilizers, grow lights and plant trays, according to a press release issued late Monday night.

The Graveses remained in custody on the misdemeanor charges this morning, according to Mikel Miller, dispatcher and reserve officer with the Vermillion County Sheriff’s Department.

Miller said no bond would be set until the Graveses appeared before a judge, which likely would happen today.

Miller could not say how much marijuana was seized, but called it a “sizeable amount.”
