Roundup: Man injured during armed robbery

DANVILLE — A man received a minor injury during an armed robbery late Tuesday night.

Police Deputy Director Doug Miller said the victim was walking down the street just before 11 p.m. near the intersection of Seminary and Washington streets when he was jumped by four men, according to his statement to police.

The man was hit in the head and then swung at with a knife, causing an injury to his left groin. He was taken to Provena United Samaritans Medical Center for treatment.

The four men got away with a cellular phone and cash.

Tuesday, 12:13 p.m. ¡X In the 2700 block of North Vermilion Street involving Daniel Beaver, 24, of Westville, Marilyn Durnell, 63, of Danville .and Norman Huckstadt, 54, of Danville. Beaver was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and driving without proof of insurance. Huckstadt and Durnell were taken to Provena United Samaritans Medical Center where they were treated and released.
