BY BRIAN L. HUCHEL

COVINGTON, Ind. Investigators continue to look into the scene of a fatal fire early Thursday morning in Fountain County.

Tammy Remington, 38, of Blue Island Road, Kingman, Ind., died from injuries suffered in the fire.

A neighbor reported the fire at 5:18 a.m. Thursday at a mobile home in southwest Fountain County.

According to a release from Fountain County Coroner Wallace Hooker, human remains were removed from the scene after the fire was extinguished.

Firefighters arriving at the mobile home Thursday morning found the residence engulfed and nearly incinerated, according to the coroner’s release.

The human remains were transported to a pathologist for autopsy and identification. The procedures were scheduled for late Thursday in Lafayette.

No information was released as to the possible origin of the fire in the mobile home.
