BY BRIAN L. HUCHEL

DANVILLE Two teenagers were extricated from their car Friday morning following an accident along U.S. Route 136.

Vermilion County deputies as well as fire protection district and ambulance personnel were called to the accident scene around 8 a.m. at the intersection of U.S. Route 136 and Henning Road.

Sheriff’s Department Capt. Dennis Wood said a Cadillac being driven by Amber Wilkey, 18, of Henning was stopped at the intersection facing south on Henning Road when she pulled into the path of an coming Ford F350 truck being driven by Martha Campfield of Romney, Ind.

The truck collided with the driver’s side door of Wilkey’s vehicle, pushing the Cadillac off the road and into the parking lot of a nearby church where it was caught under the trailer of a parked semi.

Wood said Wilkey and her teenage passenger had to be extricated from the vehicle by Bismarck fire personnel.

Wilkey, her passenger and Campfield were taken to Provena United Samaritans Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries.

Wilkey was cited for failure to yield as a result of the crash.
