The Women Aware Committee of HALO Project, a healthy community initiative sponsored by Provena United Samaritans Medical Center Foundation, invites women of all ages to attend a fun and informative luncheon about the importance of excellent skin care.
The luncheon will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sept. 27 at Provena United Samaritans Medical Center in conference rooms 2 and 3 near the cafeteria
The Women Aware committee encourages women to take an active role in their own, their families’ and their community’s health. The purpose of Women Aware is to empower women by presenting them with information about healthy lifestyle choices to ensure a better quality of life.
Provena USMC dietician Carol Shriver will teach guests how to eat properly for healthy, beautiful skin. Dr. Mary Gindi will explain what the sun does to skin and what the warning signs are for freckles and moles that could turn cancerous.
Provena Medical Group’s Dr. Arvin Uppal will discuss the different types of aesthetic enhancement available that can give the spirit and the face a lift, He will demonstrate a facial chemical peel.
The luncheon will be served from 11 a.m. to noon and presentations will take place from noon to 1 p.m.
Tickets are $15, registration is required and seating is limited. Call the HALO Office by Sept. 22 at 442-6586 to make reservations.
