Elementary principal resigns

WILLIAMSPORT, Ind. —
The Warren County School Board is looking for a new elementary school principal.
The school board Tuesday night accepted the resignation of Moira Clark, principal of Williamsport Elementary School. Clark, who has 23 years in the school district, has accepted a position in the Wayne Township Schools in suburban Indianapolis to be closer to family.
The school board will interview three finalist candidates at 6 p.m. EDT Tuesday at the district office. They are not expected to hire a principal until the July 21 meeting.
In other business, board members:
-- Established dates to approve the 2010 budget. They will review the budget at the July 21 meeting; budget hearing, Aug. 18; and budget adoption, Sept. 15.
-- Approved a cell phone policy that will allow the use of cell phones at the high school with administration permission.
-- Will have a board retreat Aug. 10.
-- Toured the buildings in the district.
CAYUGA, IND.
Administrators receive raises
The North Vermillion School Board granted $5 per contracted day raises to administrators for the 2009-10 school year.
The new salaries are: Allen Hayne, high school principal, $76,500; Jayne Virostko, high school assistant principal, $69,750; Holly Wheaton, elementary principal, $67,650; and Brian Byrum, elementary assistant principal, $55,350.

The Warren County School Board will meet at 6 p.m. EDT Tuesday at the administration building to interview elementary principal applicants.
