Local Roundup: Crimestoppers asks for information

DANVILLE — Crimestoppers is looking for information regarding a bank burglary earlier this week.

Danville police were called to the United Community Bank, 821 N. Vermilion St., where it was broken into at about 4:15 a.m. Tuesday.

According to police, a suspect gained entry by breaking out a window at the facility. Several bundles of rolled coins were stolen from the bank.

A description was not immediately available.

In addition, police continue to investigate the attempted robbery of an elderly woman in the 900 block of Franklin Street. Two men approached the woman, trying to pull her purse away from her in the process.

Both suspects are described as black males with very dark complexion and short hair. They are around 15 years old and were wearing red t-shirts, dark baggy pants or long shorts. One of the suspects had a white t-shirt on under his red t-shirt

A baby calf reported injured in rural Indianola.

Burglary along County Road 1450E, Georgetown.

Domestic dispute in the 8800 block of Glenturn Creek Road, Oakwood.

Theft at in the first block of South Henning Road.

Bicycle and $20 stolen in a robbery in the 100 block of Dale Street, Hillery.

A man arrested for aggravated battery in the 100 block of East Orange Street.

A man arrested for disorderly conduct in the 17500 block of Illinois Route 49, Fithian.

Thursday:

Domestic incident along County Road 2350N, Oakwood.

A man arrested for possession of cannabis along County Road 2150N, Muncie.

Wednesday, 8:17 a.m. – At Bowman Avenue and East Main Street involving Michael March, 23, of the first block of Bismark Street, and Donna Sharpf, 62, of Fithian. March was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.

Wednesday, 2:39 p.m. – At Williams and Illinois streets involving Ernest Stinchcomb, 18, of Oakwood, and Ivan Solgard, 55, of Westville. Stinchcomb was cited for failure to yield.
