DANVILLE — An elderly woman stood up to two men who tried to steal her purse Tuesday night.
The woman, an 84-year-old Danville resident, was walking south in the 900 block of North Walnut Street just before 7 p.m. Tuesday when two men approached her.
Police Deputy Director Doug Miller said the men, both described as black and wearing red T-shirts, both grabbed her purse and tried to take it from her.
The woman held on to the purse and she was pushed down by one of the suspects. Miller said at that time the incident grabbed the attention of passersby who stopped to help.
The two men both ran east from the scene, Miller said. No arrests have been made.
