Road work set in Fountain County

COVINGTON, Ind. The Fountain County Commissioners heard Monday night that two county roads are taking top priority.

Rusty Peevler, highway superintendent, said work will start soon on Zackmire Road south of Wallace near the Parke County line, where pipe work is needed, and on the deteriorated Covered Bridge Road south of Attica.

Peevler said the highway department is working four 10-hour days through the summer months.

In other business, commissioners:

-- Heard Steve Autor of Digital Communications of Danville propose updating the phone system in the courthouse for $16,000.

-- Learned the Fountain-Warren Health Department hopes to be in its new building in Attica by Aug. 1.

-- Tabled action on a wheelchair lift maintenance contract.



WHAT’S NEXT

The Fountain County Commissioners will meet at 8:30 a.m. EDT July 6 at the courthouse.
