Library holds summer teen programs

STAFF REPORT

DANVILLE The Danville Public Library will offer teen movies and Wii videogaming twice per month on Wednesday afternoons this summer.

Teen movie screenings will be on June 10, July 8 and Aug. 5.

To celebrate the beginning of a summer break full of legitimate days off, the June movie is Ferris Bueller’s “Day Off,” John Hughes’ magical comedy about how playing hooky for a single day can produce a lifetime’s worth of adventure. Matthew Broderick is Ferris, a guy who really knows the value of a day off. The July and August movies will be selected with input from teens at the June screening.

Wii gaming will be on June 17, July 15 and Aug. 12 with the game “Mario Party.”

All programs begin at 2 p.m. in the library’s first-floor meeting room at 319 N. Vermilion St. There is no cost to participate and all teens are welcome. Registration is not required. Free food and beverages will be provided.

For more information, contact Teen Programming Coordinator Sue Daugherty at 477-5227.

The library is open Monday through Thursday, from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Friday and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The library’s Web site is http://www.danville.lib.il.us.

Anyone may use the library’s materials and services in the building without a library card. Persons wishing to borrow library materials must obtain a library card. The library honors cards from all Illinois public libraries.
