Clark faces bench trial in second felony

DANVILLE — The first of a three-day lineup of court cases for a former professional basketball player ended with a not guilty verdict on Wednesday.

Arian “Keon” Clark, 33, was charged with aggravated driving after suspension in connection with a suspended driver’s license in March 2007. He appeared for a bench trial Wednesday morning.

Judge Michael Clary, upon hearing the prosecution case, ruled a motion by the defense asking for a directed verdict. The motion was allowed and Clary found Clark not guilty.

Clark faces a bench trial on a second felony case on the same charge in a separate 2007 case today. Proceedings are slated to begin in the afternoon.

A third driving after suspension case and a case charging him with criminal damage to property — both filed in 2007 — remain pending.
